Our collective goal as a family is to promote our beloved fraternity, to share the light when we find someone seeking it. How many Freemasons have you met along the road? Do you keep in touch? How many names do you remember?
My father, a 50+ year member, calls me the greatest Masonic promoter; I'm always wearing a shirt that broadcast our great Masonic symbols and organization. I meet at least one brother every week because I proudly wear the Compass & Square. Sadly, I remember the name of just one man that I have met... I was in a Las Vegas casino playing Craps, within five minutes I had two fellow Masons come up to me and introduce themselves. The first was the Pit Boss and he gave me a set of casino dice (as I'm playing Craps at his table mind you). He said "I like to give my brothers these when I see them on the floor"; I talked to the second man for a while and when we finished saying our goodbyes, I was still thinking about the first. This really bothered me; You see, I, like the majority of normal people, am terrible with names. If I don't immediately write your name down, it's forgotten. I told my beautiful wife what I just told you; knowing all of my flaws, after a moment she asked me "what was his name?". I said "Kevin".
"Kevin" is the one guy I don't have to search in my phone to remember. He gave me something tangible that instantly created a memory. My Travelers Coin is classy and durable; it will be saved and collected. Let us make your coin; hand it out, promote your lodge and when you receive a Travelers Coin from someone, please keep in touch with them and visit their Masonic lodge that's printed on their coin.
Keep your family close.
